• The conference took place in a Modernist building designed by Marcel Breuer, prompting conversations about scale and landscape architecture
• One particularly engaging round-table discussion moderated by Ethan Carr touched on important topics in cultural landscape conservation

Boston Living With Water Competition Jury Review

[February 25, 2015 at the BSA Space in Boston, MA]

Highlights:

• The room was packed with planners, developers, landscape architects, architects, and community members
• Judges for the competition offered their commentary on the submissions, explaining that they were looking for feasible, incremental, comprehensive solutions for coping with sea level rise
• A representative from the BRA commented that this competition was not a beauty contest, emphasizing the need for practical designs

ArchitectureBoston Expo (ABX)

Highlights:

• Grateful to attend the Women's Breakfast, I left the BCEC inspired and questioning how workplaces can be supportive or detrimental to creativity
• A green infrastructure session demonstrated how function can be beautiful
